Effective date:

Fade Away is a Chrome extension that automatically deletes Chrome browsing history older than the period you choose.

Information and purpose

  • When auto-delete is on, Fade Away deletes browsing history older than the period you choose (if you choose None, it deletes all browsing history). It never reads the contents of your history to do this.
  • Your settings (on/off and the period) are stored.

Storage and transmission

Settings are stored in Chrome’s local storage (chrome.storage.local). Everything runs on your computer, and the developer operates no server that receives your information. The extension does not send, share or sell any information to third parties. It contains no analytics or advertising code.

If you sync your Chrome history, Chrome also deletes it on your other devices signed in to the same account.

Your choices

  • Turn auto-delete on or off and change the period at any time from the popup.
  • Uninstall the extension to remove its stored settings.
  • Deleted history can’t be restored.

The extension’s use of information adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
